AGM Glory: how smartphone breaks the dead-point of -40°C
HONG KONG, Oct. 28, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- The newly released rugged smartphone AGM Glory is a bold move from the phone company AGM Mobile.
AGM Glory, one day power under -27℃. IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H Certified.
Multiple independent cameras, a gigantic speaker, and an uneven surface, it doesn't follow any industrial norms. Glory equips Qualcomm's Snapdragon 480 5G, a speaker louder than your house alarm, industrial leading thermal imaging camera, and Sony infrared night vision camera, making it one of the most functioned phone in the world. It is worth mentioning that the thermal imaging is the fastest and clearest in the phone market. More than just functions, AGM this time challenged the coldness.
The most essential feature of Glory is its cold-resistance battery. The entire smartphone industry was constantly facing the threat of coldness. Most of the smartphones today won't last for 20 minutes under -20°C, because the lithium activity decays significantly under extreme coldness. As the competitors are effortless against the cold, AGM saw its chance.
4 years ago, AGM co-founder Austin came up with the idea of battery activation under extreme coldness. By redesigning the structure and the lithium battery activation solution, Glory can stay vital for a day under -27°C, even working a few hours in -40°C. Fulfilling the purpose of a rugged phone, Glory can greatly expand users' temporal and spatial border. The function of Glory might seem appealing, but Austin thinks otherwise.
"All the glamorous features aren't the reason why we are standing here. The key to success for us is always quality. We tried our best to keep the 0 DOA (Defective of Arrival) record. Up to this moment, we are still maintaining it." Austin said. "All we aimed for is to make our phones the most reliable companion in an outdoor environment and daily life. The whole point of a rugged phone is to challenge against a tough environment. It will be meaningless if the phone dies before the challenge."
About AGM AGM is a pioneer of outdoor mobile devices. In 2011, AGM launched the first-ever rugged smartphone, Rock V5, and started serving outdoor enthusiasts and workers. Later in 2018, AGM released the best performing rugged smartphone AGM X3. Now, AGM launched the G-series and making a brave attempt to explore more possibilities in the rugged phone industry.

AGM H3 rugged phone: stylish, slimline and super splashproof
PROS
✓Slim and lightweight
✓5,500mAh battery
✓2W front facing speaker
CONS
✕Rear camera glass could get scrtatched if dropped
Finally, a rugged phone is launched that does not look like a brick, and is easy to hold in my hand. Newly launched this week the AGM H3 rugged smartphone impressed me as soon as I took it out of its box.
It looks like any other slimline phone with a large 5.7 inch LCD screen. Its dimensions are 168 x 78 x 12.3mm -- a little thicker than other slim phones --- but its thickness is due to its 5400mAh built in battery. It weighs 248g and has 1440 x 720 pixels.
But the AGM H3 smartphone is rugged and certified to MIL-STD-810H -- a different classification to the IPXX standards offered by most device manufacturers.
MIL-STD-810H guidelines are that the equipment should be able to cope with environmental stresses such as pressure, temperature, explosion, shock and vibration.
The standard also has guidelines for tests for humidity dust and water ingress. The AGM H3 phone is also compliant with IP68/69K standards for high pressure wash jets to the phone.
Unlike more boxy phones like the Cubot King Kong 5 and the Doogee S97, the AGM H3 has curved edges and smooth corners. I did not find the phone to be uncomfortable – no matter how long I used it for. It feels nice, and does not dig into my hands.
Inside the AGM H3 there is a MediaTek MT6762 octa-core ARM cortex A53 chipset running at up to 2.0GHz. It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM storage which is extendable up to 128GB if you add a micro SD card to the dual SIM slot. The OS is Android 11 and the H3 has NFC built in.
To minimise the chance of water ingress there is one type-C port and no 3.5mm jack. However inside the box there is a type-C to 3.5mm headphone jack converter.
On the rear of the phone there are three lenses and an LED flash light. The rear camera is 12MP and there is a 13MP infrared night camera. There is also a 2MP macro camera.
The front camera is 8MP. There are a few image enhancement features in the camera software such as face slimming or skincare filters – but nothing too outrageous.
Image quality is good and images taken in low light are superb. There is a 2W speaker on the front of the camera and the sound is impressively loud.
My only concern is that there is no protection for the rear camera lenses and I imagine that if the phone skidded along the tarmac, the covering glass would get scratched and spoil camera images.
The fingerprint sensor is on the back of the phone body which minimises the chance of inadvertently touching the sensor and unlocking the phone when you grab it from your pocket.
The AGM H3 has a side button which can be customised to perform tasks such as push to talk using the installed Zello app, camera, LED torch or audio play.
The H3 has both fingerprint and face unlock – both of which work well and are quick to respond. There is no OEM bloatware on the H3 to slow the phone down which I love.
I did notice a slight lag if I opened many apps and tried to use resource hungry apps simultaneously. However, the phone never froze, or needed to reboot.
Bluetooth connection was quick and strong and Wi-Fi was easy to connect. Battery life was excellent and call quality, sound and music was good.
All in all the AGM H3 is a lovely slim rugged phone that is dust and water resistant with a pared down interface and good performance.
There is little not to like about the H3 phone, and if you are rough with your phones, but hate the brutish form factor of some of the big models, then the sleek H3 will give you all of the features you need in a slimline device.

AGM is at MWC: super-durable phones coming to Europe, partnered with JBL for superior audio
AGM is an up-and-coming company, which specializes in rugged and durable handsets that you can take anywhere. Still, "rugged" does not need to mean "underpowered" and AGM understands this, which is why it has a few models in its portfolio, ranging from the budget-friendly AGM A9 to the flagship-grade AGM X3.
Both of these phones have speakers tuned by JBL, and they sound loud, clear, and powerful compared to other handsets. Now, the companies have upgraded this partnership to co-branding the AGM phones, starting with the mid-range A9, which will now be known as the AGM A9 JBL.
AGM is currently at MWC with a booth open for anyone who wishes to check out the aforementioned devices and hear those JBL-tuned speakers in action. The company would also like to proudly announce its entry into the European markets through its UK-based webshop — agmmobile.co.uk. It is live now and customers can visit it to order their new rugged AGM phone.
In the near future, the company plans to launch a new budget-oriented feature phone running on Android Go, called the AGM M5. It is IP 68 and MIL-STD-810G certified, guaranteeing its a rugged little handset. Meant as a backup device or the phone you take to places where smartphones might not survive, the M5 sports a 2,8-inch QVGA display, big and easy-to-read keys, and a 2,500 mAh battery which should last quite a while. It still supports 4G to keep you connected on your hikes.
In the AGM web store, you can find the budget-friendly AGM A9 JBL, which still comes with quad JBL-tuned speakers; the mid-range AGM X2 SE, which packs a massive battery and a Snapdragon 653; and the flagship AGM X3, with dual JBL speakers, Snapdragon 845, wireless charging and more. They can be shipped to all EU countries and orders within the UK come with free delivery.

AGM A9 rugged smartphone with JBL speakers is official
AGM A9 has been in the news for a while and today the company unveiled the device in all its glory. The A9’s killer feature are the 4 speakers that are tuned by JBL and offer superior sound quality. Of course, it is a rugged smartphone as many previous models from the company that has a long tradition in such devices.
The phone sports both IP68 and MIL-STD-810G certification and that means that not only is it both water and dust resistant, but it can also “bump-proof” in case you accidentally drop it. On the hardware side, the AGM A9 comes with a Snapdragon 450 SoC and that is a surprise as almost all smaller Chinese manufacturers use SoCs from Mediatek. To accompany the SoC, there are 3GB or 4GB of RAM that come with 32GB or 64GB of storage.
The display measures at 5.99″ and has a FHD+ resolution meaning that the company dropped the 16:9 aspect ratio. Oh, it has a Glove mode too for easy use when wearing gloves. The device is not bezeless though, as that could make it less durable to drops. The photo shooting is taken care of by the 12MP Sony rear camera and the 16MP front camera so no dual camera here. Interestingly enough, AGM equipped their new star with an FM Radio, something that is missing from the vast amount of devices out there nowadays. Lastly, there is a fingerprint sensor on the back and the battery of 5400mAh makes sure you won’t run out of juice through the day.

AGM X3 Wins "Best Ruggedized Device" Award At The UK Mobile Industry Awards 2019
The AGM X3 was one of the winners at the UK Mobile Industry Awards 2019. The device managed to win an award for “the best ruggedized device”. The awards were handed out to the winners on June 6, and members of the mobile industry voted on the winners.
The co-founder and CEO of AGM Mobile Devices Europe, Robert Pryke, said that he’s delighted that one of the company’s devices received such an award, and that the award represented another step on AGM’s journey to becoming a leading player in the rugged smartphones category. AGM’s goal is to bring its devices to a wider audience in the future.
Smartphones that the company manufactures are waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof, while they come with IP68 certification. Those devices are also tested for the MIL-STD-810G military standard of ruggedness, and are powered by Android. Qualcomm’s chips fuel the company’s phones, and select models even come with JBL-tuned speakers.
The AGM X3 is actually quite powerful in the spec department, as it is fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, and it comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone includes two cameras on the back, and right below them sits a fingerprint scanner. A dual-LED, dual-tone flash can be found next to the phone’s main cameras, while AGM’s branding is present on the back of the device as well.
The phone’s back side is curved, while the phone does include bezels on the front. Those bezels are not too thick, but they’re not as thin as on some other phones out there. On the flip side, the AGM X3 does not feature a display notch or display hole, so most people will probably rather deal with a bit of bezel than look at a display notch or a hole.
The AGM X3’s speakers are tuned by JBL, while the device features a 5.99-inch fullHD+ display. The phone includes 12 and 24-megapixel cameras on its back, while the 12-megapixel sensor is the phone’s main camera sensor.
A 20-megapixel camera can be found on the device’s front side, while this phone ships with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. It has global support for 4G LTE connectivity, and its battery can be recharged in two ways, wired or wirelessly.
Speaking of the battery, the AGM X3 comes with a large 4,100mAh unit, and you can utilize Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging in order to recharge it. If you prefer wireless charging, AGM has included support for 10W Qi charging, though you’ll need a Qi charging pad, of course.
The phone does support facial scanning as well, it uses its front-facing camera. The AGM X3 ships with an NFC chip, so you can use it for wireless payments as well. The AGM X3 can also show your real-time temperature, humidity, and pressure, thanks to a built-in sensor. If you would like to know more and / or buy the AGM X3, follow the link down below.

The AGM A9 is a tough adventurer with four JBL speakers and 5400mAh battery
After the first drop-certified rugged phone with Snapdragon 845, the X3, AGM decided to bring the successful formula downmarket with the A9. It still sports a Snapdragon chipset, but of the midrange variety, while retaining and at times even improving on the X3's features, all in order to bring the price down to just $330.
The brand new A9 is MIL-STD-810G and IP68-certified, which are the highest ratings for any smartphone that comes in the "rugged" category. As with the previous AGM products, this model also is waterproof, shock-proof, dust-proof and ice-proof. It is said to withstand a drop test of five feet and remain underwater up to the same depth while being 99% dust-proof.AGM A9 is powered by a long-standing 5400 mAh battery that is sure to offer longer functionality because of the low battery consumption of the midrange 14nm chipset that comes packing an X9 category LTE modem. It also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, which recharges the phone way faster than usual.
The large 6" display comes with a 1080x2160 pixels resolution and 500 nits of peak brightness offering a clear display even in brightly lit environments. The 12MP rear camera and the 16MP front one are designed to take beautiful pictures in dimly-lit environments, with special emphasis on portrait optimization. The graphics subsystem supports real-time Bokeh camera effects, too.
The collaboration with JBL brings about the quadruple JBL-tuned speakers offering "three-dimensional" sound which is a first of its kind. The dual-mic noise reduction ensures the unwanted noise is largely offset and offers better audio quality for conversations and recording. Tune in to your favorite radio stations without having the need for an external antenna or headset to be connected as it comes with a built-in antenna.
In colder areas of operation of the device, at times when it is essential to wear gloves, the A9 does not require one to take them off as it supports a glove mode, which means one can wear mittens and still conveniently operate the device. Overall, the AGM A9 is a release that gives a brand new experience of smart rugged phones for adventurists and regular users alike. It is now hitting shelves, raising expectations for rugged phone enthusiasts.
The price is pegged at $299.99 for the 3GB RAM + 32 GB ROM version and $339.99 for the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM one. When you buy the A9 from AGM's official store, you get the opportunity to win free JBL Headset worth $149 and many more exciting discounts and gifts.

AGM M7 rugged phone review: Affordable rugged retro phone goes back to basics
Quoted from zdnet.com by Eileen | May 12, 2021
PROS
✓Extremely loud 3.5W speaker
✓Very simple to use
✓Waterproof and shockproof
CONS
✕Few options for customization
✕Low-resolution camera
The AGM M7 rugged phone will survive most accidents, is easy to use, and with its 3.5W speaker, you will never miss a call again.
The form factor of the AGM M7 Android phone will take you back if you remember early mobile phones.
Reminiscent of an old Nokia 3110 classic, this rugged device has pushable number keys, a navigation button, and a removable battery. Remember those?
Yet, under the hood, this Android phone has all the features you need for a simplified mobile phone experience.
The AGM M7 has a MediaTek MT6739 processor and runs a simplified version of Android 8.1. The phone comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of ROM, and there is a removable 2,500mAH battery behind two layers of casing for extra protection from water ingress.
Behind the battery, there is space for three cards: Two SIMs and a microSD card slot for cards up to 128GB. It is 4G too, but if you have two SIMs, installed you can only have 4G on one of these cards and 2G on the other.
Be aware that there is a plastic film between the battery and the contacts which you need to remove before you can initially use the phone.
The AGM is a rugged IP68 phone which is waterproof at depths up to 1.5m for up to 30 meters and will stand a drop up to 2m onto concrete.
In the box, there is the phone, a USB Type-C to audio connecting cable, and a USB charging cable. Additionally, you can purchase a retro desktop charging dock to stand your phone in when not in use.
The camera is basic but functional. The rear camera is 2MB, and the front camera is 0.3MB. There is no flash for either camera.
Although this is far too low resolution for camera geeks, is it is perfectly adequate for people who do not want the fancy bells and whistles common to other phones but want a rugged phone that does basic tasks.
The AGM M7 comes preinstalled with a few consumer apps. You get WhatsApp, Facebook, Skype, TikTok, and Zello. Turn the M7 on and quickly get to the home screen.
You do not have to go through the process of adding your Google Account, and all of the other configuration features. Turn the phone on and get the home screen immediately. Clear the cache by long-pressing the star (asterisk) key for three seconds.
There is a large orange user-defined key on the left-hand side of the phone which can be configured for a few different actions such as Zello push to talk, invoking the camera, turning on the LED torch, or starting audio.
If you like your music loud, then you will be really impressed with the M7. There is a 3.5W speaker on the back of this relatively small phone.
And it is loud. Any elderly relative will have no problems hearing this phone ring, and music will reach anyone within a large radius of the phone.
I like the simplicity of this M7, and I like its rugged exterior. It has navigation by either key or touch, swiping, or touch press. For anyone with sausage fingers, misdialing will become a thing of the past.
I miss my email app, and Google Play is not installed on the phone to add other apps, but I probably use social media on my phone more than email anyway.
I can use the cable to sync my calendars and the Chrome browser is installed so I can get to webmail if I really need to.
For a simplified rugged phone, the AGM M7 really has most of the features that I probably need -- and a superbly loudspeaker if I'm in a noisy environment, or start losing my hearing.
The keys are comforting and the phone is easy to use -- albeit a little basic -- but it would certainly suit the needs of several of my older friends.
If your aging parents want a basic phone with push buttons and a simple interface, then buy them the AGM M7 for under $100. It will survive most accidents, is easy to use, and they will never miss a call from you again.
